This is an exciting time to work for the Marketing and Communications Team at Basildon District Council. The Basildon District is undergoing an enormous amount of change with investment taking place. The Council will be involved in improving residents satisfaction and helping to strengthen the local economy.
You will be at the forefront delivering communications to Council employees, residents and businesses to ensure they are abreast of changes. The Team will communicate the positive results achieved by the Council and raise awareness across the region and UK. The Department has undergone a major reorganisation creating a number of new posts, including Internal Communications Officer.
Reporting to the Head of Communications you will provide a comprehensive and professional communications and marketing service to internal customers. You will manage Council publications, Staff Intranet site and information screens. With your creative flair you will develop new and improved ways of engaging with staff.
You will hold a qualification in writing or journalism, such as an NCTJ certificate. Your communications experience will include developing material for intranets and publications and ideally consultation and survey-led marketing campaigns. In addition, you should have the ability to work autonomously, self manage and prioritise tasks to ensure that the different needs of the organisation are met.
You will be willing to travel in order to meet the needs of the service and have the flexibility to attend meetings outside of the normal office hours as required.
