Information and E-Services Manager
Are you someone who challenges conventional wisdom and the way things have always been done?

We’re looking for an experienced library or information service manager with the vision and tenacity to re-shape our Reference & Information Service.

You must have a clear understanding of the issues affecting the development and modernisation of public library services, including e-services. You must also have the analytical skills to carry out a service review, including an evaluation of the information and e-services currently offered and an assessment of additional or alternative services that would better meet the needs of the local community and support local small and medium-sized businesses. A top priority will be a review of the book stock and periodicals held at the Reference Library at the Old Town Hall and the development of a stock management strategy for the reference and information stock at all of the borough’s libraries.

We’re looking for someone with experience of managing staff and performance, who can motivate, coach and develop staff to enable them to learn and grow during a period of change.

You must have experience of managing resources, controlling budgets and ensuring services deliver good value for money.

You must have experience of working in partnership and developing links with outside agencies, professional bodies and commercial organisations to support service development and delivery.

You must also have a degree level qualification, a recognised qualification in library and information science or an equivalent level of experience.
