An opportunity has arisen within the Children’s Services Division for a motivated and enthusiastic person to fulfil the requirements of the Independent Reviewing Officer in undertaking statutory Looked After Children Reviews, Pathway Plans, Adoption Reviews and also Child Protection Case Conferences.
You will need to establish and maintain effective communication links with the Social Work teams, placement teams, foster carers and other agencies and offer advice and guidance to Social Workers and other professionals involved in the Looked After Children and/or Child Protection processes.
You will hold a Diploma in Social Work or an equivalent Social Work qualification, be registered with a Care Council and have substantial post qualifying experience in statutory child care. Experience of working in partnership with children, their families and other agencies is essential along with experience of supervising staff and chairing meetings.
The post carries an Essential User Allowance and therefore you should possess a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
