This is a good opportunity to gain valuable career experience in HR Business Services and an understanding of the various functions within a major County Councils HR department.

You’ll be working in our HR Business Services team and be responsible to the HR Business Services Manager. Providing quality business support to HR to ensure performance targets are met and operating efficient and effective HR and general business systems in accordance with corporate and legislative requirements.
Key tasks will include planning, organising and analysing Surrey County Council’s training events, collecting key statistics and performance indicators and providing accurate and timely reports. You’ll also maintain databases, records and procedure manuals.

With a basic knowledge of HR principles allied to experience in Learning and Development, you must be proficient in using and applying IT systems, particularly databases and spreadsheets.

Well-organised and methodical, you’ll also need effective problem-solving, team-working and written and oral communication skills. You will be a self starter, able to work on your own initiative with effective time management skills.
