An experienced Housing Options/Homelessness Prevention Officer is required to become a member of a small team focusing on preventing homelessness and offering a first class housing advice/options service to customers who are in housing need and may be vulnerable.
The essential requirements are a good knowledge of housing and homelessness law and the ability to give housing advice covering all tenures of housing. You will need to have highly developed skills in customer care, negotiation, persuasion and advocacy, the ability to work flexibly, to prioritise a diverse work-load and meet deadlines and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Carrying out home visits throughout the district will be necessary. You will also be required to participate on the out of hours duty rota.
A full driving licence and access to vehicle is necessary as an essential car user allowance is available to the successful applicant.
A relevant Housing qualification is desirable but not essential.
