An exciting opportunity to promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults in a vibrant Local Authority.

The role

The Housing and Safeguarding Co-ordinator will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) assessment and referral process on behalf of the Strategic Housing Division and its partners. The Housing and Safeguarding Co-ordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the authority fulfils its safeguarding obligations whilst also undertaking a review of policies and procedures to ensure good practice moving forward.

Location

The job is based at Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for delivering the best possible outcomes for children and vulnerable families. You will have detailed knowledge of housing legislation and related social work, human rights and immigration legislation with experience of working with vulnerable children and families in a pressurised front-line environment. Excellent communication and IT skills will also be essential as will the ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external partners.

This post is offered on a temporary contract for one year (subject to further review). We would also be pleased to consider a temporary secondment either internally, or from other organisations.

Salary details

£35,070 - £36,912 pa (PO2)
