Barnet Council’s Visiting Team is recognised by the department for Communities and Local Government as one of the most innovative visiting teams in the country. As a Team Leader in this team of six officers, you will be able to manage staff who work alone, away from the office, in customer’s homes in a way that maximise their safety.
The team is responsible for visiting Barnet’s highly pointed social housing applicants in order to verify their circumstances in a fast and efficient manner that does not compromise on quality. It also visits potential homeless applicants and those already living in temporary accommodation with a view to helping Barnet halve the number of households living in temporary accommodation by 2010.
You will have experience of investigating or preventing fraud and of managing scarce resources.
Good working knowledge of the homelessness legislation will be an advantage, as you will take part in the Homelessness Duty Senior rota. So if you are a consummate leader of people with flair, imagination and the ability to maximise the performance of your staff please let us know.
