A dedicated and motivated individual is sought to join the Heritage Conservation team to help record and protect the rich and varied historic environment of Kent. Your primary responsibilities will be to help maintain the Historic Environment Record for Kent, a database of archaeological and historic building information. You will help add new information to the system from archaeological reports and other sources and generally maintain the system. You will also help supply information to those who wish to use it and support this with outreach and educational events as appropriate. You will also assist with projects that depend on HER information, and will assist the development control service as required.
You will have a good degree in archaeology or a related subject, or equivalent relevant expertise. Familiarity with information management, good computing and organisational skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, a disciplined approach to work and good written English are also required, together with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines. Previous knowledge of historic environment records will be an advantage.
