A position has arisen for the post of Higher Level Teaching Assistant, based at Swallownest Primary School, this is a permanent post commencing 16th April 2012 working 16.25 hours per week, term time only.

Working under the guidance of the Headteacher and Teaching staff you will be required to provide support and guidance for Bands B, C and D Teaching Assistants (and the supervision of these staff where appropriate). The main purpose of this role is to complement the professional work of Teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under the agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals / groups, or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.

You will be responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the school and management of other Teaching Assistants, including allocation and monitoring of work and training. You must have experience of working in an Early Years Foundation Stage setting.
