| Summary | We want our borough to be as healthy and happy as possible. That means making the whole community aware of health risks and the initiatives we’ve introduced to combat them. As part of our Health Promotion team, your work will help give our residents a better quality of life. We want to reduce health inequalities by targeting the whole community, for example, linking our efforts in schools, statutory services and the voluntary sector. You’ll improve the borough’s capacity for health promotion and contribute to generic health promotion work, but also take responsibility for leading specific health promotion projects. With a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, you’ll be used to leading project work in communities and developing promotional campaigns. A clear understanding of health promotion principles and practice is essential, along with IT skills and a team-orientated approach. Above all, you’ll be keen to share expertise, motivate people and encourage positive change, using a flexible, collaborative approach. Please note that you will be expected to work some evenings and weekends. A vehicle and full, current driving licence are required. Closing date: 25th April 2008.
