Headteachers’s PA
Chailey is a successful rural school set in beautiful countryside within easy reach of Brighton.
As her PA, the post holder will play an important role in supporting the Headteacher to lead the school with maximum effectiveness. The post holder will need to develop an understanding of the nature of the Headteacher’s role and maintain and monitor the appropriate administrative systems to enable her to fulfil her responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
The Headteacher’s PA holds a crucial responsibility and role in the life of the school. The PA will hold the confidence of the Headteacher herself and will be expected to work with the utmost trust and sensitivity handling sometimes complex and difficult situations.
This is a term time plus 19 days in the school holidays contract for 45.08 weeks per year. The hours of duty for Headteacher’s PA are the requirement to work a 37 hour week, Monday to Friday, excluding a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
The Salary Scale for this post is NJC Scale 6, points 26-28, £22,221-£23,708 pro rata
Please note: the successful candidate will also be expected to fulfil the role of Clerk to Governors, which is subject to a separate contract as detailed below.
As Clerk to Governors, the post holder will be accountable to the governing body, working effectively with the Chair of Governors , the Headteacher and other governors.
The post holder will be responsible for advising the governing body on constitutional matters, duties and powers, and to work within the broad current legislative framework. To secure the continuity of governing body business and observe confidentially requirements.
Full training is available for the role of Clerk, with the expectation that this will be undertaken in order to fulfil the expectations of the Central Clerking Service of the Local Authority.
This post is for 225 hours per year.
The Salary Scale for this post is SS Grade 7 Point 17-19, £19,231-£20,383 pro rata
