This is a new post created to lead and manage the integrated provision for young people. The current services are being reconfi gured to deliver services for young people aged 9-19 which support locality partnership working. You will ensure that young people have access to positive activities, appropriate and accurate information, advice and guidance and effective targeted support for different groups of youngsters. Central to the success of this
service is the ability to involve and listen to the voice of young people and to actively engage young people in decision making.
These are key strategic leadership posts within Children Services
acknowledged by JAR Inspectors as having a strong track record of
improvement. “The strong and determined leadership of the Council and the effective working partnerships are continuing to improve outcomes for children and young people in Walsall” December 2008.

Ensuring levels of quality and performance are maintained and improved, negotiating and acting upon strategic, operational and fi nancial issues and identifying new partnership opportunities are all essential aspects of these posts.
