The Supporting People Programme is going through a period of transition as a result of changes to national funding. Liverpool was selected as a Pathfinder Authority to pilot the new funding regime and we are keen to build on the progress we have made in order to ensure that services are commissioned imaginatively and innovatively to meet identified need.
A permanent vacancy has arisen within the Supporting People Business Unit for the position of Head of Service reporting to the Assistant Executive Director, Adult Care and Learning
The Supporting People programme funds housing related support to 21 client groups. The post holder will have responsibility for policy, strategy, service development and commissioning in respect of the Supporting People programme. He/she will drive forward the aspirations in the Business Plan to ensure effective interpretation and implementation of national and local policies across organisations/agencies so that the services commissioned are effective, efficient, safe, good quality and value for money.
This is a challenging and exciting commissioning role.
