These are highly influential roles in reshaping adult social care services for the people of Walsall – driving the transformation agenda, developing new ways of working that gets results while delivering value for money.

We are introducing a new structure and have already implemented a radical shift in approach, with a greater focus on personalisation, early intervention, independence, choice and control. You will be at the forefront of shaping these developments and you will have the opportunity and flexibility to make your mark and provide truly personalised services. Crucially you will be part of a forward thinking management team that is determined to improve services through partnership working.

It is essential that the two post holders work flexibly and collaboratively to ensure effective partnerships and operational delivery of services across adult social care. Together these two new senior management positions will have responsibility at a strategic level to design and lead the successful provision of adult social care services in Walsall, transforming access to and the delivery of services to meet the needs of all residents. This may include joint delivery arrangements with other services and agencies. You will also share responsibility for standard setting, quality assurance, risk and equalities – providing advice and guidance to services and across the directorate.

One of the two post holders will take the lead responsibility for safeguarding.

Your background may be in social care or health but you will bring a track record of transforming services in partnership, the skills and abilities to manage a broad portfolio, and enthusiasm, commitment and high aspirations for the people of Walsall.
