The Prevention and Intervention Service is a key delivery area within Children and Young People’s Services, Directorate of Social Care and Learning. The principal aim of the Service is to provide a range of early intervention services for vulnerable families in Havering, both through children’s centre and specialist social care provision.

Following a recent reorganisation in the Service, we are looking to develop the Children Centre staff teams across the borough. We have range of children centre delivery focusing on targeted and universal support to families.

We are looking for staff who are enthusiastic and dynamic in their approach to delivering services. You should enjoy working with young children and families and want to join us to make a difference in the lives of young children living in Havering.

As a Groupwork Childcare Worker you will be involved in direct work with young children and their families, using group work methods. You will be aware of and used to applying effective support for vulnerable families, in a childcare setting.

Applicants must hold or be working towards an NVQ3 or equivalent childcare qualification and ideally, have some knowledge of Child Protection legislation and wider safeguarding legislation. This post will include some flexible working.
