| Location | Rochford is situated 35 miles from London and 5 miles from Southend-on-Sea on the main Liverpool Street Line. Contained with a 65 square mile area the District includes the historic towns of Rayleigh and Rochford, a number of smaller villages and the island of Foulness. It's boundaries are the River Crouch to the north and Southend-on-Sea to the south. There are three main line stations within the district and good connection to the M25/M11 motorways. | ||
This is an exciting opportunity to develop and drive forward GIS and Web within the Council.
You must have a background of using GIS software systems in a commercial environment with knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS and IDOX Uniform Spatial a distinct advantage. You will also need to have knowledge of developing and designing web systems and of programming languages including C#, ASP, .NET, JavaScript and SQL.
The post holder will be required to take on the role of providing GIS support -producing maps and data analysis to help plan and deliver many different services throughout the Council.
You will also lead on the development of the Council’s website and intranet, supervising the Council’s Web Team which consists of one Web Programmer and two Web Editors.
