The First Contact Service provides a clearing house function for all contacts into CESC- this is a generic service where all communications with this unit are recorded and have an outcome of resolution- redirection -referral
We are seeking applications from either a social work manager or an experienced senior social work practitioner with experience of deputising for a manager and overseeing and supervising less experienced colleagues. You will need to demonstrate a sound understanding of best practice in dealing with contacts to social care (adults and/or children) to enable all work to be redirected, resolved or referred for social care assessment having identified the expressed need has met the eligibility criteria.
You should have a strong track record of compliance with procedures, sound decision-making and the ability to engage colleagues within and outside the Local Authority. You will be client focused so that expressed needs can be identified at an early stage, including the need for protection. An ability to manage competing priorities and work as part of a Team is essential. A key challenge so an excellent grasp of local and national challenges and plans for children’s and /or adult’s services is desirable.
