Kent’s Family Intervention Project aims to support families a wide range of difficulties that may include youth offending, neighborhood disputes, domestic violence, parental offending and mental health issues.

As a dedicated key worker, you will need to take a persistent and assertive ‘whole family’ approach which recognises the inter-connectedness between children’s and adults problems and fosters change. You will need the confidence to work alone with families in a range of settings, including their own homes, as well as co-ordinating support to them from other agencies.
Managed through the Multi-agency Kent Parenting Order Service you will receive excellent support and dedicated supervision.

You will need NVQ Level 3 in childcare or equivalent and proven experience of working with children, parents and families with complex needs is essential. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the effect of social and economic disadvantage on children, young people and families and an understanding of legislation relating to of child welfare, youth offending, benefits and housing.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and is able to work effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team. The role will include some evening and weekend working.
