Join our highly skilled multi-professional team and help to improve school attendance and levels of attainment across a group of secondary schools in Surrey.

Working alongside Education Welfare Officers, Youth Workers and other Family Support Social Workers, you’ll manage a heavy caseload, liaise with school staff and help to establish support plans for disaffected young people. Supporting families, whose home environment may be contributing to their child’s poor attendance, you’ll work on a one to one basis with school age children and co-facilitate Group Work in schools. You’ll also set up parenting classes, liaise with agencies to ensure their sustainability and attend weekend/residential activities when required.

A qualified Social Worker with experience of child protection and working with young people, you’ll be well versed in the application of theoretical models and relevant research. You’ll also be able to assess, plan, implement and review strategies which meet the needs of children and their families.

An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure and POCA check will be required for this role.
