This is a Fixed Term/ Secondment Opportunity to cover Maternity Leave.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Family Support Team Manager to ensure the effective operational delivery of universal and targeted family support functions by managing a Children’s Centre multi-agency team (within a defined locality), providing high quality, consistent services that improve outcomes for children under 5 years and their families and parents-to-be.
The Family Support Manager will provide a lead across the locality family support service, offering guidance and expertise on safeguarding. This is a senior level role and the post holder will liaise with colleagues across departments and services at similar management levels. Within this role you will also provide and support good practice, effective and high quality assessments, record-keeping and professional development.
Candidates will need to have worked at this level in a previous role and have the ability to lead and facilitate meetings with external and internal staff . You will need to demonstrate strong and effective communication skills and be able to work independently and as a part of a management team.
Key Requirements
- A graduate qualification relevant to managing family support work, e.g. social work, nursing, early year’s education and/or significant experience of managing multi-agency teams.
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Sharing and Assessment and integrated working procedures to assess children’s needs and refer to other agencies using the Common Assessment Framework (CAF).Knowledge of Parenting Programmes, home visiting services and the impact of their delivery
- Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Children procedures and how to implement them.
- Significant experience of managing family support teams working with families and young children. Experience of co-ordinating teams to implement child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience of managing caseloads, acting as LP and undertaking e-caf assessment.Experience of working across multi agency partnerships..
- Postgraduate qualification relevant to family support work e.g. social work, nursing, early years education
