This advertisement is for a Family Involvement Worker to cover both Bar Hill and Waterbeach Children’s Centres
The role of Children’s Centres is to improve outcomes for all young children, from birth to age five, and to reduce inequalities in outcomes between children growing up in disadvantage and the wider population. The centres provide a focus for multi-agency teams to deliver integrated services to young children and their families.
The Job Purpose is:
• To provide universal support services to all families with children under 5 through the children’s centres and to provide more specialised/targeted services to those families identified as needing additional support (in particular this post will work with those families with the most complex needs).
• To actively encourage family participation in children’s centre and partner services.
• To support the Children’s Centre Manager in researching, developing, evaluating and delivering new services and to enhance and promote the life chances of young children living within the children’s centre reach area.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated worker to help families with children under 5 access the full range of services available in our centres, to provide 1:1 support and to run a range of different support groups for families.
You should have experience of working with families and children, be a good communicator and team worker, and have a relevant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
A Children’s Centre Family Involvement Worker job description and person specification are included with this advertisement, but for further information or an informal discussion, please contact Kath Doyle on 01480 831423.
Closing Date: 10th July 2009 Interview Date: 27th July 2009
