The successful candidate will assist in the delivery, instruction and general running of mobile wheeled sports activities (such as skateboarding, BMX freestyle and BMX racing etc.) and programmes that are designed to engage, enthuse and empower young people aged between 11 and 25 years of age. To be short-listed for interview you must possess the following:-
• A good standard of education in order to produce personal time sheets and accurate records of activities, data capture, accounting for fees, equipment and vehicle logs.
• Knowledge and understanding of the implications of operating outreach/mobile activity sessions, preferably in wheeled sports.
• Computer literacy.
• At least one National Governing Body Award, preferably in wheeled sports.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Proven practical experience of coaching/working in the sport and leisure industry, preferably in wheeled sports.
• Proven practical experience of working with/engaging young people at community level.
• An ability to communicate and motivate young people to become sports volunteers/participants.
• Good organisational skills (i.e. construct own work programmes, supervision of volunteers).
• Ability to meet the physical efforts of the job (walking, lifting, carrying, pulling and pushing).
• A willingness to work unsociable hours.
• Home telephone/quick contact point.
