Tower Hamlets’ Extended Schools Team is working with schools and other agencies in the authority to extend services in and around schools in order to improve outcomes for children and young people and to improve access to services for their families and the wider community. In order to improve delivery of and access to extended services across the authority, we are seeking to appoint Information and Finance Manager to join the Extended Schools Team as soon as possible.

Extended schools provide or enable access to a core offer of services that include:
• Wrap around childcare
• A varied menu of activities for children and young people including study support
• Parenting support, information and family learning
• Swift and easy access to specialist support services
• Community access to ICT, sports and arts facilities

Reporting to the Head of Extended Services, the Information and Finance manager works closely with the Extended School Cluster Manager and the four Extended Schools Cluster Co-ordinators to ensure that the full core offer is available to children and young people, their families and the wider community. The post-holder plays a key role within the team in supporting the commissioning and monitoring of new services across the borough and in developing systems to record take-up of provision.

The successful candidate will have experience of both information and finance management within education or another area of children’s services and an understanding of how effective management of both are essential to ensure the delivery of quality extended services and the take up of such services by all sections of our community, including the most disadvantaged. S/he will have shown a commitment to improving the lives of children and their families and demonstrated the ability to take initiative, engage partners and drive change. Please note successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Criminal Record Bureau disclosure.
