The Environmental Services team works in partnership with our environmental services contractors, Serco, to manage a range of environmental services including waste management, street cleansing and grounds management. The awareness team play a vital role in supporting these services, by educating and raising awareness of environmental issues, for residents and visitors alike. The team has a key role to play in delivering the Councils environmental commitments both within the Council itself and amongst its communities.
This role will provide advice and information to residents on environmental issues such as minimising their waste and how to recycle more. They will assist with the research, development and implementation of environmental campaigns and projects, such as developing promotional material or attending a community event. A key focus of this role will be on actions within the Council itself to reduce its CO2 emissions.
Essential qualities for this post are good communication skills, problem solving skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
