West Berkshire Council is looking for an effective professional to assist with the continuing development and implementation of community sustainability strategies.

Working with the West Berkshire Partnership, ‘greener’ sub-partnership, the post will play a pivotal role in delivering district and community focused sustainability initiatives; including maintaining accurate and up to date information on the partnership activities, co-ordinating actions between partner organisations, and liaising with other stakeholders such as community groups.

Specific duties include:

  • To provide assistance in researching national, regional and local community based grant schemes and obtaining funds to support delivery of the LSP ‘Greener’ sub-partnership targets and objectives.
  • Liaise, and maintain productive working relationships, with stakeholder groups such as West Berkshire community organisations, businesses and private individuals.
  • To attend local and regional meetings to promote the work of the LSP ‘Greener’ sub-partnership and develop a good working knowledge of related community projects and initiatives.

You will need to have excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, as well as being computer literate with good working knowledge of IT systems. Ability to work outside of ‘normal office’ working hours is essential.
