The Royal Borough of Kingston is responding to the current economic climate by providing employment and training opportunities to local unemployed people through its Local Employment Partnership scheme with Jobcentre Plus and through the recruitment of Apprenticeships.
This is a newly created key role to ensure the Royal Borough delivers on a pledge to create new apprenticeship opportunities within the workforce as well as implementing employment and work experience targets set out in a Local Employment Partnership with Jobcentre Plus.
You will need to be an excellent advocate for this service within the Council and with partner organisations and you will be liaising closely with Jobcentre Plus and local training providers. Your role will involve identifying suitable opportunities in conjunction with service managers across the Council, providing advice to managers on our apprenticeship scheme, co-ordinating the intake of apprenticeships and work placements and providing support to our HR team in recruitment and staff development.
Excellent communication and organisation skills will be essential, along with the confidence to speak and influence people at all levels within the council.
