We are looking for an articulate and enthusiastic person to join our busy team based in our city centre office where we provide the Council’s community alarm/Telecare monitoring service and out of office hours emergency contact service which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Must be flexible, prepared to work shifts and more than the guaranteed minimum of 12 hours per week as required in order to provide 24 hour cover within the call centre.

You will need to be able to think on your feet and will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective service to community alarm/Telecare clients, tenants, members of the public and professional bodies when dealing with a wide range of enquiries. You will need to be able to deal with emergency situations via both the emergency call centre call handling system and by telephone.

You will also be expected to work on your own, have the ability to communicate effectively in a calm and tactful manner as well as being committed to high standards of customer care in order to deliver a quality service.

You will be required to record information accurately and concisely on various computerised and manual systems and be able to undertake a variety of general administrative tasks. Applicants should therefore possess good information technology and keyboard skills.
