This is a unique opportunity to undertake specialist professional training and work at the heart of the democratic process. A period of formal training and study will enable you to gain a full understanding of electoral registration and elections management. Joining our Elections Team, you will then assist with all administrative arrangements for elections and the preparation of the register of electors.

Helping us to deliver all types of elections, you will enjoy a wide range of responsibilities – including maintaining computer data and official procedures, responding to varied enquiries, and assisting with arrangements to ensure public participation in the electoral process. In addition to gaining valuable skills and experience in an area of high skills shortage, you will benefit from a competitive salary and good opportunities for career progression.

Self-motivated, organised and reliable, you are a team player with good communication skills. An understanding of project planning would also be an advantage, but is not essential. You will certainly be computer literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and be educated to at least A Level standard, preferably degree level. Please note that we may be able to wait for the right candidate to become available.

To obtain further information, download an application pack below (CV’s will not be accepted). Alternatively please e-mail or telephone 01737 276096 supplying your e-mail or postal address. Please quote reference SJ638.

The closing date for the receipt of completed applications is Friday 26th March 2010. It is anticipated that interviews and assessment will be held mid April 2010.
