Tower Hamlets EPS is a positively regarded and highly achieving team. Due to unprecedented demand for our high quality work across all areas of Children’s Services we are looking for two ambitious, energetic and dedicated Educational Psychologists to join us (full or part time).
A large, friendly and supportive team, we use positive psychological approaches to raise achievement and reduce barriers to learning for the children and young people with whom we work. We are a creative team and work closely with many others to improve outcomes for our local community. Our work is continually evolving and we are justifiably proud of our responsive, coherent and preventative model of service delivery. All recent assessments recognise the high quality of our work. Our own annual survey repeatedly has 90+ % satisfaction rates from schools and other service users. Feedback from the Audit Commission consistently ranks our service in the upper quartile.
Work within the EPS is varied. Team members work closely with schools and with a wide range of other commissioners. We contribute substantially to a range of initiatives including: supporting parents through Children Centres and the delivery of parenting programmes; delivering Extended Services to schools; promoting the needs of children and young people with ASD; strategic planning with CAMHS and leading transition through and beyond Key Stage 4.
We are one of the UK’s most culturally vibrant and diverse areas. The borough is regarded nationally as a beacon for community cohesion. Tower Hamlets is also one of the best connected and most accessible boroughs in London.
We can offer you a comprehensive induction and supervision programme, including peer consultation, flexible working, and an essential car user allowance. We also offer effective administrative support, good ICT facilities and excellent CPD opportunities.
We are also interested in hearing from fully qualified EPs who may be available to offer short-term locum services.
For informal enquires about this post please contact David Carroll, PEP on tel: 0207 364 4323 or Henryk Holowenko, Deputy PEP.
Tower Hamlets is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A CRB enhanced disclosure that is satisfactory to us will be a condition of appointment.
Equal Opportunities
We shall ensure fairness and equal opportunities throughout our workforce and in service delivery. We welcome applications from suitably skilled candidates regardless of ethnicity, gender, disability, sexuality, religion or age.
