The Planning and Performance Unit in the Children’s Services Department:

• Produces the strategic and operational plans that set out the department’s vision and work
• Collects, analyses and reports on children’s social care and education data, and
• Delivers the authorities local contribution to ContactPoint.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced person to help us further strengthen our capacity for analysis and performance management.

You will contribute to the development of the capacity of the service to collect, analyse and exploit educational data in order to support school improvement by the collection, analysis and evaluation of statistical information.

You will have lead responsibility to develop and maintain the service’s geographical information system (GIS) and also contribute to the development and maintenance of the central pupil database (TRIBAL).

You will have proven experience of providing high level, detailed statistical analysis using the statistical software SPSS, and evaluation within a local authority (or similar service). You will have good communication skills and the ability to deal with a broad range of key stakeholders.

Additionally, candidates for this post will demonstrate experience of developing effective working relationships with both internal and external colleagues.
