The Council has identified ‘Economic Success’ as its key priority within the current business plan. In order to assist us to continue to deliver services to the highest standard we are looking for an Economic Development Administrator who is ready for a challenge, has a sense of humour, a flexible approach to work and enjoys getting involved and taking part!
You should be an extremely motivated individual who is able to support all the functions of an incredibly busy team. In particular you will organise and assist with a variety of activities including business networking, tourism, sport, arts, older person and children/young people’s leisure programmes, plus take a role in monitoring the Council’s car parks across the District. A basic understanding of at least two of these areas of work would be an advantage.
You must be a quick learner with proven and competent literacy and numeracy skills and educated to ‘A’ level standard or possess relevant experience. You will be fully IT literate with a confident telephone manner, have an understanding of marketing and possess excellent customer service skills; ideally supported by recognised qualifications. You must be comfortable representing the department at various events, occasionally working alone. You will have the opportunity to be involved in special events such as the Marriott’s Way 10k, the Olympic Torch Relay and the Tour of Britain. You will be prepared to work occasional weekends and evenings to support the work of the department.
