Developing innovative and effective responses to substance misuse
Tower Hamlets Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) is a multi-agency partnership responsible for the implementation of the National Drug Strategy at a local level. The existing team is being strengthened and developed to ensure effective delivery of the National Drug Strategy and its various initiatives across the Borough.
DIP Arrest Referral Worker
As part of the Drugs & Alcohol Arrest Referral Team, you will be based within Police Custody suites where you will be responsible for assessing, and referring into treatment, detainees who are subject to Required Assessment Legislation. You will also be proactive in offering this service to detainees wishing to address their drug using behaviour voluntarily and of offering a triage assessment for any detainee arrested for an alcohol related offence.
You will need to be able to work evenings & weekends and participate on an on-call rota. This post will be subject to an enhanced Criminal Bureau Records check and Metropolitan Police Clearance.
Number of Positions: 3
Interviews and assessments will be held on the week beginning 26th April 2010.
