£19,755 – £23,248 for working 41.5 hours pw
Epsom Downs, home of the famous Epsom Derby and one of the County’s best loved and widely used recreational green spaces is a beautiful place to work. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Downskeeper to work in a small dedicated team in order to ensure public safety and compliance with the Epsom & Walton Downs Regulation Act 1984.
You will need to have a good working knowledge of conservation issues and habitat considerations as well as some knowledge of managing a diverse open space.
You will have good communication skills to liaise with the public, the horse racing community and any special interest groups, resolving any conflicts over the use of the Downs.
You will be flexible and adaptable, and enjoy working outdoors as part of a team as well as being physically fit and able to work without close supervision. Your hours of work will cover a 7 day rota which includes weekends and bank holidays. A full driving license is required.
