Sevenoaks District Council is an Excellent Authority that was recognised by The Times as the best Council to work for in the South East and one of the top 5 nationally.

We believe in working to achieve the best outcomes for the community and engaging with key stakeholders throughout the planning process.

Planning for the future of Sevenoaks poses real challenges. We need to provide for development and at the same time protect the environment. There are many future regeneration challenges and a number of extremely major development proposals including town centre redevelopments being proposed.

Following a restructure and review of all posts in our large and busy Planning and Development department, we are looking for a highly motivated person to strengthen the Development Control Service and lead its response to the challenges of continuous improvement and excellent customer service. This role is vital in ensuring the further development and improvement of the service.

You will be expected to focus on quality of Development outcomes, performance management, customer services and achieving corporate aims.

We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate a track record of performance improvement and show you are an effective manager of change who can deliver results and get the best from our committed staff.

For further information and an informal discussion about this post, please contact Kristen Paterson, Director of Community and Planning Services on 01732 227268 or Jim Kehoe, Head of Development Services on 01732 227196
