At the London Borough of Bromley, we feel privileged that we’re helping children and young people turn their lives around. As part of the Children’s and Young People Services, you’ll work with like-minded people to deliver an innovative service, that’s providing new beginnings to those in need.

Reporting to the Group Manager, you’ll discharge responsibilities under the Children Act 1989, including other relevant legislation, to children who need our help. With the relevant supervision, you’ll assess and provide advice to our service users, assuming responsibility for a limited caseload of children and families. Acting within prescribed policies, procedures and guidelines, you’ll help complex family situations and vulnerable children, ensuring they receive the best possible care, as well as supervising and managing a small team.

BA SW, C.Q.S.W, Dip S.W (or equivalent) qualified, you’ll also be registered with the General Social Care Council. You’ll possess an in-depth knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and have proven experience of working with children and families social work, within a statutory, voluntary or independent sector organisation, specifically of supervising complex casework and dealing with contested care proceedings. At ease with young people and children, you’re a good communicator who’s able to prioritise work efficiently. You will need to gain, or possess, CRB clearance.
