Set in a small, close-knit team, this new role offers the chance not only to develop and expand your own working parameters but to help shape the direction of the Partnership itself, enjoying a varied and stimulating range of working relationships.
You will play a vital part in delivering the North Yorkshire Sports Strategy, liaising with partners most notably National Governing Bodies for Sport and Sport England as well as other local sport organisations, local authorities and national organizations. Your role will be to ensure that conditions are right for increased participation across priority sports and other forms of physical activity. Key targets will be supporting the provision through line management of coaching, volunteering, disability and leading on youth sport across North Yorkshire. You will work alongside the second Delivery Manager to help develop and implement strategies and plans on issues such as workforce development, equity and safeguarding. You will also be responsible for event management.
You will play a key role in the senior management team ensuring that the partnership delivers on its objectives and support the delivery of an Olympic Legacy programme across North Yorkshire.
In addition to an excellent knowledge of sports development, including a strong track record of partnership working, you will need significant event planning and management skills. You must also be able to motivate and influence our partner organizations through negotiation, persuasion and personal influence.
Fixed Term contract until 31 March 2014
As you will have access to children you will need a Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau, the Council will issue the application form and pay the fee.
