We currently have a vacancy for a 12 month fixed term Data Assurance Officer.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with our Communications team to create an awareness campaign of the organisation’s responsibilities to Data Protection legislation.
• Work with the services to discover their data retention requirements, and advise ICT and the Service Managers on appropriate storage policy.
• Evaluate how Departments and individuals are storing their data, establish a sound storage model, including the structure of shared directories, and establish awareness across the organisation of how and where data should be stored.

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience of the application of data protection legislation
• Experience of surveying shared data areas and designing improved structures.
• Knowledge of data related legislation and regulations within the public sector
• Strong interpersonal skills, which facilitate customer – client relationship building
