Do you have what it takes to work in a team dealing with the public on the telephone and face-to-face? Are you an enthusiastic, motivated individual with a passion for customer service? Do you respond well to working in a pressurised environment in a positive “can do” manner?
We are looking for someone who will act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries and as an ambassador for Lancaster City Council services. An excellent face-to-face and telephone manner is essential, as is previous experience of working in a busy, customer-focussed environment. You should be an excellent communicator, a positive and effective team player and have the ability to adapt your behaviour to treat customers as individuals.
Ideally, you will have GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above, (or an equivalent qualification) and excellent keyboard/typing skills. However, if you do not hold formal qualifications in these areas but feel that you are able to demonstrate that your knowledge, previous experience and skills are of an equivalent standard, you are invited to apply.
Candidates will be required to take part in a role-play scenario and to undertake a keyboard test when they attend for interview.
