Longfield is a residential home for the elderly in Cranleigh. We have 50 beds and cater for those suffering with dementia.
Whilst public transport is somewhat of a challenge, we are in a lovely rural area and we do have a regular bus service during the day. Our home is also run by a dedicated staff team who are committed to providing the best possible care to our elderly residents.
We currently have a vacancy for a full time Cook working 36 hours per week. This is to provide nutritious healthy options for our elderly clients, taking into account individuals personal needs and preferences. You will need to have a sound knowledge of the needs of older people and an understanding of some of the problems that may come with age.
You will need good time management skills and be able to plan ahead. You will be responsible for the ordering and menu planning taking into account the monthly food budget. You will need to hold a Food Hygiene certificate and be willing to undertake any professional qualification relating to catering.
As well as an interview you will also need to complete a verbal and numerical test.
