We are looking for someone to progress the Council’s contaminated land strategies and provide advice and information on planning and related matters. In return, we can offer you the opportunity to apply your contaminated land skills to the beautiful and diverse Mendip landscape in Somerset with its history of mining and quarrying.
The post holder will be involved in the identification and risk assessment of contaminated sites and the maintenance of the database of contaminated land within the district. You will provide advice and information to members of the public and assist the Environmental Protection team through providing specialist advice on contaminated land reports that have been submitted as part of the planning consultation process.
Applicants will ideally have a degree in a science related subject and will possess good communication, negotiating and organisational skills.
