Connexions Stockport – part of Services for Young People – provides a support service for young people aged 13-19 (or up to 25 for those with additional needs), ensuring they can access the right information, advice and guidance to reach their full potential in education, employment or training. It’s about empowering young people to make decisions about their future and taking control of their own lives.
Our Personal Advisers act as the link between young people and a range of partner agencies from the education, training, employment, health, youth work, social welfare, criminal justice and voluntary sectors.
In recruiting Personal Advisers we are looking for natural communicators and motivators who want to engage with young people, to raise their aspirations and self-confidence in order to overcome barriers and achieve goals
We have a variety of Personal Adviser vacancies and would like to hear from people who have had previous experience of working with young people and/or a professional qualification in Guidance, Youth & Community, Social Work, teaching or other related qualifications. The successful candidates will work alongside Education Welfare Officers and Youth Workers in our recently formed Services for Young People Area Teams to help and support children and young people to reach their full potential.
Successful applicants must have, or be actively working towards, an NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline.
