The Job

Commissioning Officer (Substance Misuse) Salary: £33,510. The role of Commissioning Officer for Substance Misuse will be responsible for supporting the commissioners in developing and implementing effective strategies across the service.

The role will support the business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, development and delivery of commissioned services. The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery. This position will be responsible for commissioning support across a comprehensive range of services and provision that is responsive to the needs of the borough. Develop and implement the services elements of contract and performance management framework across the service. Take the role in the development of evidence based strategic plans to deliver high value services across the local social care economy; this will include identifying priorities, developing a programme of work within the financial resources available.

The Person

This role requires a dynamic, forward thinking, experienced commissioning officer with a track record of delivering complex services across health and social care boundaries. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to provide leadership in a changing environment with the opportunity to play a key role in the development and modernising services and setting performance targets. To rise to the challenge, you will need to demonstrate an depth knowledge of the national priorities for substance misuse. Closing date: 12th February 2012
