London Borough of Islington Children’s Partnership
Our Children’s Trust arrangements are developing fast. The Children’s Partnership Strategy and Commissioning Division is currently commissioning services for children across the Council. We have done this so successfully that NHS Islington has given us the responsibility for commissioning Community Health services for children too.
We need experienced staff with clinical health expertise to help us to deliver this and hence are recruiting to the Commissioning Officer post.
This new post will work together with the Senior Health Commissioning Adviser (Disabled Children) and Children’s Partnership Commissioning Manager to ensure that Children’s Community Health Services are commissioned effectively. This will involve developing service specifications including setting appropriate outcome measures and establishing and implementing systems for monitoring and evaluating services against financial, performance and quality standards. We are committed to implementing World Class Commissioning and at the heart of this is our desire to put the views of young people, parents and carers at the centre of service improvement.
You will:
- Be educated to degree level or equivalent.- Hold a relevant and recognised professional clinical health qualification
- Have substantive clinical experience of working in a health setting providing services to children
Above all you will need to be enthusiastic, and share our commitment to improving outcomes for children. In return you will be joining a dynamic division, be at the forefront of integrated commissioning of Children’s Services and receive support and high quality supervision from experienced staff.
Applicants currently employed by the NHS may choose to continue to do so.
For an informal discussion please ring Sabrina Rees on 020 7527 1771.
Interview date: 2nd and 3rd September 2009
