Walsall Council is looking for an experienced commercial Solicitor or Barrister. The Councils legal team is a former finalist for the Municipal Journal awards in the Legal Achievement category as well as having received the councils in-house Leadership Award.
We are seeking to appoint a Commercial Solicitor/Barrister.
The successful applicant will be providing commercial and procurement legal advice, managing a wide ranging caseload of both straightforward and complex legal work. The role requires a pro active minded individual, who enjoys innovative and exciting commercial projects aimed at improving the way the council works. There is great potential for personal development which includes deputising for the Service Manager (Commercial team).
Significant experience in commercial contracts is necessary as well as some experience of working on projects in the public sector, although training can be provided.
Starting salary will be dependant on experience.
