Bolton Council’s Sports Health and Inclusion Service is part of the Children’s Service Positive Contributions portfolio and is committed to working throughout the borough to support, encourage and increase the number of quality registered coaches and instructors.
The Service in conjunction with Bolton Sport and Physical Activity Alliance, is working with Sport England and National Governing Bodies of sport, to substantially increase the number of people from across the Borough who play sport, to support local talented people from all backgrounds to have the opportunity to progress along a competition sporting pathway, and to allow those who play sport to have a quality experience and are able to fulfil their potential. To allow Bolton to do this we need to ensure that we offer support, guidance and nurture current and future coaches to reach their potential.
Bolton is looking for a dynamic individual to support and mentor local volunteers and coaches through a range of coach education and continuous professional development opportunities in a wide range of sports and activities to ensure Bolton has a sporting skilled workforce fit for purpose.
The successful candidate must hold a qualification within sports coaching, in addition to long term experience in supporting coaches and volunteers, must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills, leadership skills, must be able to demonstrate strong influencing, motivation and networking skills. In addition the candidate must have in depth knowledge and a proven track record in coach education packages, long term athlete development principles, along with community and voluntary partnership experience.
