This is a great opportunity to provide specialist advice to group early years and childcare settings on establishing high-quality services.
You’ll manage the childcare for a geographic area, identifying gaps and supporting the set up of new services to support local parents. The role will involve travelling locally to meet providers and discuss expansion of provision, advising providers and working in partnership with head teachers, school leaders and other provisions.
An Early Years background and an understanding of the Childcare Act 1989 and 2006, Children Act 2004, the Every Child Matters Agenda and inclusive practice is vital, as well as a good understanding of the Ofsted early years registration processes and the ability to explain them clearly.
You’ll also need an understanding of working with different types of private, voluntary and independent sector providers. With excellent communication skills and ICT skills, you’ll be a good team worker, able to work well independently and manage your own time and diary, as well as being flexible about working hours
