The above opportunity now exists for a fixed term period of 12 months providing an effective and courteous ‘sport’ instruction to the satisfaction of customer requirements. To be short-listed for interview candidates must meet the following criteria:-

• Good standard of literacy and numeracy in order to write lesson plans and session registers, calculate attendances.
• Knowledge and understanding of the implications of national governing body operating standards and good practice relating to sports coaches.
• Current Emergency First Aid Certificate.
• At least one Level 1 National Government Body Coaching Award or CSLA or equivalent.
• Current Child Protection Certificate.
• Proven practical sports coaching experience (paid or unpaid) in a wide range of sports.
• Proven practical experience of working with/engaging young people at community level.
• An ability to motivate young people to become sports volunteers.
• Home telephone/quick contact point.
• Good verbal and written communication skills (i.e. dealing with customers on a face to face basis and keeping records/ paperwork up to date).
• Good organisational skills (i.e. construct own work programmes, supervision of volunteers).
• A willingness to work unsociable hours.
• The ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and a commitment to service improvements.
