These are exciting times for local government finance. We face the biggest changes to the local government finance system in a generation. At Newark and Sherwood, we have redesigned our services to meet the financial and service challenges that we face.
In this high profile role reporting directly to the Director of Resources, you will lead and inspire our high performing Financial Services Business Unit which deals with all accounting, budgeting and treasury management services, including payroll and creditors.
You will be a qualified and experienced accountant, and you are likely to be the Council’s Deputy s151 officer. You will be good with the detail but be able to see the bigger picture to enable finance to support the Council’s strategic objectives.
You will be based at the Council’s headquarters at Kelham Hall, near Newark.
