With more than 1,600 public buildings in the county, ranging from nearly 600 schools to County Hall itself, Kent County Council is responsible for a hugely varied estate. Maintaining all of these properties is a massive and incredibly important job – which is why we would like your help.
From a leaky tap through to £million-plus contracts, our maintenance and repair work is carried out by a wide range of contractors under the supervision of a smaller number of consultants. So by managing our contracts with those consultants, you will ensure the integrity of critical public buildings throughout Kent.
Under your direction, projects will run smoothly from start to finish; delivered on time, to cost and to the highest standards. Building strong relationships with consultants, contractors, clients and end users alike, you’ll constantly look to drive value from our supplier relationships. At the same time, you’ll see that every project conforms to our Corporate Property policies and legislative requirements.
Whether your background is in commercial buildings or a relevant public sector context, you’ll need to be a senior surveyor with a significant breadth of experience. After all, we’ll be calling on your professional judgement to quickly size up – and decide the appropriate provision for a wide variety of maintenance jobs large and small.
