Brokerage Unit
The Supporting People, Contracts & Brokerage Team is responsible for developing and monitoring contracts for social care with independent and voluntary sector service providers. The team has a good record of innovative service development with local contractors and voluntary bodies consistent with the Council’s commitment to working in partnership and improving support to vulnerable people.
The successful applicant will be responsible for placing orders for social care services such as home care, day care, residential care, and equipment with independent contractors and voluntary organisations, and will work closely with social workers, contractors and other members of the team to ensure that the service users receive the highest quality service. This will involve extensive telephone work and the use of the Council’s social care database, Framework-i.
The post would be suitable for applicants with relevant experience in the care sector. It may appeal to individuals who have experience of using IT systems to set up social care services in a local authority, an independent sector organisation, or a voluntary organisation.
Familiarity with and the ability to use a variety of software packages are essential. Training will be provided.
